About
Midwest Dhamaka is the University of Cincinnati’s premier Bollywood-fusion dance competition. Currently, we are in our ninth year. Each year, we invite eight collegiate Bollywood fusion dance teams from across the nation to compete in Cincinnati. Over five hundred people from the Greater Cincinnati Area attend our show.
Through Midwest Dhamaka, we are able to promote diversity and inclusion on our campus by sharing our love for South Asian culture. Additionally, we pride ourselves in being a platform that creates for dancers a safe space for expression and collaboration. Finally, this year we are ecstatic to work with Elementz, a non-profit group in Cincinnati, that shares our love for the arts and our community. About this venue:
The School for Creative & Performing Arts (SCPA) is a K-12 pre-professional arts and academic college preparatory school. SCPA affords students a unique educational opportunity, where arts and academics are integrated and mutually reinforced. It’s a curriculum where the arts illuminate academic concepts in the classroom, and vice versa where learning in the academic classroom offers students a richer understanding of their arts practice and performance.
